Hi Greg,
    No, not necessarily.  The -JX-17 started relatively early, June, 1952,
vs an SP-600 start date of Sept. 51, and all production went on to around
73, probably in lesser qtys than the early contracts as time went on.  The
ceramic disks replaced the BBOD's at about sn 17,500.  I have seen/had
several of them, don't recall the particular model no.s a the moment.
sn's went sequentially, not necessarily by model no., as different
contracts/models were produced in time periods that overlapped & stretched
beyond the initial contract date.
    The JX-21A was the last model produced, it probably oughta be the most
desireable due to the product detector (if you're interested in SSB).
