...And some of us even use AM on 160, 20, 15, 10, 6, and, yes, even 2
meters. Almost any receiver (tube or solid-state) can be made to
interface with any transmitter (tube or solid-state) as long as they both
cover the same desired frequencies and you have a methodology for
switching the antenna between receiver and transmitter. For people who
like to mute their receivers during transmit, that would be an additional
consideration.
