Hi Lou,

As you guessed, the manual's wrong.  Your VTVM should be connected to 
the junction of C44 and L8, I believe.  (I'm at work and am relying on 
my sometimes erroneous memory -- at any rate, it's not a tube pin, it's 
at the connection between a coil and cap in the upper right hand corner 
of the set it it's sitting vertically with the front panel on the left). 
If nobody answers beforehand I can be more specific this evening.
