[Hammarlund] HQ 170 alignment

Lou,

I remember a posting a couple of years back about a problem with the
published procedure for the 60 kc alignment. I don't remember the specifics
but do remember there is a problem. Seems there was some fine print or info
in a block on the schematic that contradicted the written process but was
correct. I would search the archives. I'll give it a try if I find some
time this evening.

But a partial answer to your question is that the procedure as written in
the manual is flawed.

I have a HQ 170 that iam trying to align..The procedure in the manual
doesn't seem to work For example for the 60khz IF alignment the procedure
calls for connecting the VTVM to pin 7 of V13..The schematic shows this to
be the grid of the BFO..Even with the VTVM connected to pin 2(correct pin i
believe). The VTVM shows 0.0 voltage with the sig gen output of 60khz....The
AVC is off as per instructions..Has anyone aligned the receiver?

Lou..
