Brian,
Sounds like the Local Oscillator is not running on 80. Did you try
adjusting the main tuning up to the top end of the band and see if it don't
start somewhere along the way. You can scope the oscillator through a
coupling cap and see if it's running or not. Don't have the manual in front
of me at the moment but it should not be too hard to figure out where...Hit
the plate of the Osc tube with maybe a .001 @ 600vdc cap in series. Look at
a band that works first and then drop down to the one that don't and
compare.
