Just wondering and have not tried this but...
Could you heat the rotor package say by placing near a light bulb for
awhile. Then remove from heat and quickly lube the area around the shaft
with a high quality but thin oil and let the temperature drop pull the new
oil in around the shaft?
Some people have had good results replacing the clock with a quartz movement
from Klockit. One gentleman made excellent reproductions of the clock face
available to the mailing list. Looking back over my archived email he said
he would post these clock faces to BAMA.
If you don't require absolute authenticity these new fangled clocks would be
a good replacement. None of my Hammarlund clocks ever have the right time
because they are all plugged into a switched AC strip.

Subject: [Hammarlund] clock repair
Hi All;
I just searched the archives for any info on repairing clocks. Found
nothing. Has anyone attempted a repair of a sluggish rotor? Maybe drill a
hole somewhere and inject some WD-40? Thanks;
