  Hi Gang,

      For those who don't know, the 180-A manual was expanded with 
extensive circuit
descriptions and curve figures for the IF section so you could sweep align 
the receiver,
if you had the gear.  The AX, AC, and Export model schematics were also 
included.
What you won't know, unless you're told, is that Hammarlund made a couple 
of mistakes in
the alignment section, so you have to pay attention to the procedure and 
not necessarily
the photos that illustrate the control settings while doing the 
alignment.  That's
why most people have trouble after they align one AFTER they use the late 
procedure.
Invest in the HQ-170 early manual and use that procedure.
