After installing a nice 12AU7 (thanks Ralph) in my HQ 140x its sounding =
great. The sensitivity issue I noticed when I first got it seemed much =
better after I cleaned the variable cap contacts and put a little =
Progold=20
on them...until....I threw the standby switch for a half hour or so =
while I
was teaching. When I got back and flipped the switch back to receive,
I could get no signals, just background noise. I turned the radio =
completely off and back on and signals all over the place. Flipping the=20
send/receive switch kills the sensitivity pretty much every time. It =
doesn't seem to be in the switch itself which feels and sounds solid
and spraying tuner cleaner in it made zero difference. Any ideas?
Thanks. Andy W1AWB
