As always, all flavors of vintage gear are always welcome -

If the fog lifts so the electrons can bounce off something besides tree top high
clouds and be deflected back into the frog pond sterilizing the Tadpoles, the
rain stops falling long enough for me to venture outside and reattach the ground
wire on the main ground bus of the station to the twin eight foot Copper rods
sunk in the soil just outside the Shack wall and the air temperature warms up
enough so that the birds sitting on my antennas remove their electric feather
warmers and stop generating spurious reception interference that sounds like
somebody frying eggs in bacon grease in a cast iron skillet over a roaring camp
fire, I will be doing the live from the swamp Saturday May 24th HCI 40 meter
Net. It will commence at 12:30 PM EDT, (1630 UTC) with me coughing several times
into the desk mike to check the audio level and get that crud hanging off my
vocal cords loosen up so I can expectorate it into the Heathkit HW-101 chassis
free cabinet I have parked in the corner.

The Net proper will begin at 1:00 PM EDT, (1700 UTC). Hopefully by then my voice
will have stopped changing pitch and it will be evident it is really me, not
some alien impersonator with a gender problem!

The frequency will be 7.280 Mhz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
ear splitting scream of my grandson who missed the nail head with the sixteen
ounce carpenter's hammer he was using to build his prototype Ark to rescue the
female blondes, brunettes and red heads two by two and nailed his thumb to the
pine plank! Might teach him which 'stud' works best with a hammer!

I hope to hear those of you who are not preoccupied with stuffing your faces
full of charcoal grilled t-bones, potato salad, baked beans, tossed salad, hot
dogs, burgers, marshmellows and other picnic type goodies, tomorrow for the
Hallicrafters Memorial Day weekend live from the swamp 40 meter fact filled
fellowship hour. Hear you then.

Whatever you do, be safe. Remember, Memorial Day is about remembering those who
made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom, as well as for those loved
ones who have departed the Earth and left us with a mixture of happy and sad
memories of our all too brief time together. God bless America.
