[Hammarlund] John Leary SP600

Dear List,

I have seen references on the list to a "John Leary"  Hammarlund SP 600. =
 I have such a unit, an SP600 JX-26(M), serial # 13881, which includes th=
e following notation "1982 W9WHM."  It is my first Hammarlund and one of =
my first boatanchors.  It looks real good and has a great sound.  I bough=
t it on Ebay.  I have been most pleased with it especially after I locate=
d and removed the dead mouse and eliminated the strange offensive odor th=
at emitted from the radio.  In fact, along with the Lowe Europa HF 225, i=
t is obviously one of the best radios I have ever used.  Maybe the best.

I am an swl and not much of a technician.  I just enjoy playing and liste=
ning to them.  I would like to know more about John Leary and his restora=
tions.  If anyone can educate me on the matter, I would greatly appreciat=
e it.  Also, I have been unable to determine what the M in the JX-26(M) m=
eans?
