Well, I aligned this set at the points on the scale that are shown in =
the
manual. Yes, I know that 'usually' they set them in part way to "fudge" =
the
scale linearity, but in the SP600-JX17 manual the points are closer to =
the
edges. Even so, the dial linearity on this set is better than I'm used =
to
seeing on "most" analog receivers, so guess I shouldn't complain, eh? =20

Most alignment procedures call for aligning the dial at about 1/4 the
dial at both ends. e.g. 600 kc and 1400 kc for the broadcast band. This
reduces the error in the middle by creating a small error at the ends.
The net result is less error anywhere on the dial. Good luck.
