[Hammarlund] Cleaning SP-600 coil fingers, lube question?

Hi agn Phil,
I guess there's some lube that's acceptable on the contacts,
"Stabilube?" maybe a name? But I've always just used deoxit on a wooden
toothpick to clean the oxide off, and nothing more. You're going at it
properly.
The problem is in the oscillator module, either it's contacts or one of
the mica caps in it. If it was the contacts, it should show up on all
bands, unless the pins on only that module are bad. I had a similar problem
on one in the last yr, I think it was the band 4 module, 7.4-14.8mc. The
freq. jump wasn't great, but it made copying SSB about impossible, which it
normaly isn't. I swapped in the module from another rcvr & it was OK.
Figured I'd get back to the bad one & replace the micas in it, haven't got a
round tuit yet. I've got a lot of dipped micas, one of these days I'll
search out the right ones. I hope your cleaning will do the job, but here's
a possibility for you if it doesn't.
