[Hammarlund] SP-600 Capacitor C97

Hi.
I'm doing a "preliminary" alignment on the SP-600. Gain seemed a little low
on bands above 7MHz (2nd mixer). I checked the 3.5MHz Oscillator, frequency
is only about 20Hz high as measured on the Yaesu VR-5000 receiver (in LSB
mode), so the Xtal is good!

Anyway, I found I had to tune the slug of L33 nearly all the way in to get
any semblance of normal gain (L34 is "normal"). This indicates to me that
capacitor C-97 is either open or changed value (decreased). IS THIS A
COMMON FAILURE IN THESE SETS?

Another Question? Schematic shows C97 as 65pF. IS THAT RIGHT? Before
cutting this one out I want to make sure I have a replacement (not easy to
get in there without removing the Xformer). If it is I have some 1000VDC
Silver Mica 68pF 5% capacitors that should work just fine.

So far I'm very pleased with how this set is coming along. I had to stop to
do some home repairs (air conditioning) but the set is progressing quicker
than I'd hoped.
