The USE of them in radios may be new.. the capacitors themselves are not 
new.  "High Ripple" caps are designed to withstand high ac currents.  Los 
ESR is one factor.  Construction to dissipate heat is another.  There are 
likely other factors I never heard of.

The SP-600 has neither of these conditions.

I suggest you use the economy caps with terminal strips and when you get 
ready to sell your radio, ask the person who wants to buy it if he/she is 
willing to pay the then-additional money to get you to locate and install 
an original type cap.

Note: the SP-600's here are NOT scheduled for resale. Yours may be in the 
same category.
