To All,

I am doing my first SP-600-J-3 and find this thread very interesting. All the
caps in the RF Amp and in the Turret have been replaced. The appropriate
Modules were removed. This does not make me an expert, but for sure it allows
me to appreciate the intermittent problem that Charlie is having.

A suggestion. If the Band 3 Modules were removed and installed in one of the
lower band positions and the problem followed, then the problem would be in
one of the band 3 modules. A few of things would be gained by this. One,
experience in removing and installing the modules. Two, a chance to inspect
the pin soldering for cracked or damaged soldering. Lastly, the caps could be
replaced at this time.

If I am all wet in this let me know. It would be learning experience for me
also.

Barry I am still plugging away on the solid state P/S article for the R-390.
Please be patient. Will email you with status in a few days.

Al
