Mike,

The Vernier Tuning was added by Hammarlund beginning with SN 1335.  They
make a kit to convert the earlier models.  The kit replaced the BFO pot with
the Vernier adjustment.  The Slot Depth was moved inside the cabinet and
replaced on the panel with the BFO adjust. The details are on the
