Some years ago, I worked with a quality control man that previously was
employed by Telechron. He told me that the Telechron motor was designed to slowly
leak oil through the main bearing on the output shaft. Eventually most run out
of oil.

Using this fact, I have repaired countless Telechron clock motors by drilling
a small hole
(about .032 inches or so in diameter) in the top of the motor (on the major
diameter) and injecting a few drops of a light oil such as 3-in-1. The hole can
be then sealed by a piece of electrical tape or a small drop of solder or
epoxy.

Hope this might be of help.
