[Hammarlund] SP-600 Tuner Funzies

GE List.  I am trying to make my 600 tuner linear so that it points
(hopefully) at the correct frequency thats being received.  So far with a
fair amount of work its now better but, not quite right.  What I have found
out for anyone else who wants to try is u always tweak the vfo tuner cap
plates at the high end of the group of frequencys you want to correct.
Correcting at the high end shifts all of the frequencys below either up or
down.  I used the upper frequency bands to adjust the vfo because of the
better resolution on the dial.  Also you need to let the radio operate on
the band for a couple of hours that you want to adjust.  After you think
u've got the VFO linear u will have to reset the end points for each band.
Now this is my problem - I cannot get the tuning on all of the bands to be
exactly right on the money.  Am I expecting to much because I've been
spoiled by digital technology?????
