Digital displays are available for Hammarlund, and sundry
other boatanchors from AADE in Auburn, WA. See
http://www.aade.com/
I have three of these, for an HQ-180, and an SP-600, and one
for a homebrew RX.
I had to do more work than the installation notes indicated,
including building simple line amplifiers, but they now work
great. They are precisely as accurate as the effort you put
into their calibration - no more, no less. My SP-600 readout
is set to read down to 10Hz, and as far as i can tell it is
that accurate. My HQ-180 is set to read down to 100Hz,
because its vernier tuning control is in the IF strip and
does not affect the readout, hence no point in getting too
pedantic about calibration.
BTW, installation in both cases is reversible.
