[Hammarlund] Label removal

Well, if it is just paper I would say to put the receiver on its back
so that the front panel is facing up and then put a sponge soaked with
water on it and let it soak. That ought to remove the paper even if it
disintegrates.
Depending on whether the glue that was used to stick it on is water
soluble
it may be another problem to remove the glue. I doubt if WD-40 is going
to
dissolve much of anything. if you have to experiment with any other
solvent I would try a drop of it on the paint inside the lid or some
place
like that to see if it softens the paint. There are so many
possibilities
of what kind of glue it might be that it is hard to guess what might
work.
Just plain water for a long time is a pretty good solvent.
  Good luck.
