Oh, I dunno....I suspect Les forgets more about Hammarlund receivers in
a night than most of us will ever know. I'm a published author too, but
I still have to sit in traffic and wait in line.
Besides...what if people making Kenwood, Icom, or Yaesu parts decide to
post to all lists as a 'service'? I'm not knocking Glen's offering of
parts, but I do suspect there is a valid *reason* for the lists being
separated as they are by manufacturer or whatever. Once you start
allowing one person to advertise unrelated items on a specific list,
you're then opening it up to "pc for sale used for surfing ebay for
boatnchors" or 'chair for sale used for SWLing'. That might sound
foolish or extreme, but it never starts with a big *THUD*, it's always a
gradual erosion.
While we do stray a bit off-topic at times, my opinion is that
advertising is something to be treated differently. It's a completely
different can of worms. Perhaps this explains why we have these lists
and not just one newsgroup?

BTW, I'm a big fan of the <delete> function myself, but I don't see it
as a way to excuse everything and anything...
