Glen,
I think the objection was to misleading readers by suggesting you have
reproduction parts for Hammarlund, when you do not. As an author you surely can
see how what you wrote can be construed that way. Rather than make an issue of
this, Glen and all, let it go.
I do not think Glen Zook is intentionally misleading others, although he might
have done so accidentally. The issue of malice is certainly not operative here.
We all make mistakes now and then, yes, even I. Bet you thought you would never
hear me admit that, heh? I only have one flaw, everything! Other than that, I am
perfect.
It is beneficial to all of us when anyone attempts to reproduce parts for
various pieces of vintage equipment. Perhaps we would all do well to be a little
less quick on the trigger? Especially in TX where those dudes pack pistols on
their hips, and some an attitude on their shoulder. (grin)
What I want to know, is why doesn't somebody manufacture replacement knobs?
There must be at least a dozen or more requests every single week for them for
one flavor or another. I heard some guy in CA is making them, but I can not get
a name or telephone number for this person. Do any of you know who this is?

I have no intention of "spamming" anyone. Over the
past several months that I have been trying to help
out by reproducing some of the missing parts, etc.,
that I am able to reproduce. Quite a number of people
have asked me to keep them posted on what I am now
doing. Instead of trying to put out lengthy messages
to the various reflectors, I finally learned something
about building websites. Frankly, I have a lot to
learn before the sites even approach looking
"professional". But, at least it is a start.
Also, I have been a professional author since I was a
junior in high school (sold my very first article to
Wayne Green at 73 in early 1961) and have had well
over 1000 articles published in magazines like 73, CQ,
Ham Radio, Popular Electronics, Electric Radio,
newspapers, etc. I was the first FM Editor of CQ from
1971 until 1973. There have been numerous requests
from people for articles and other information that I
have written over the years. Since I still own the
copyrights, I can choose to put the information on the
Internet without any copyright violations of any kind.
Thus, I am in the process of putting up various
articles that people have shown an interest in.
If anyone has been offended by my post, I appologize.
However, the <delete> key works wonders if one is not
interested. I use it all of the time if a particular
subject is not of interest to me.
