All vintage gear is always welcome -
The Hallicrafters Collectors International 20 meter Global Glow roundtable will
be held on Wednesday June 19th. The pre-Net will commence at 7:00 PM EDT, (2300
UTC). The roundtable proper, begins at 8:00 PM EDT, (0000 UTC). The frequency
will be 14.315 Mhz usb with back up frequencies of 14.322 and 14.328 Mhz. All
+/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the sound of a demon possessed Woodpecker
(not the CIA variety!) doing Morse Code on my R25g fifty foot tower just outside
the Ham Shack wall. I do not think he is going to find the kind of 'bug' he is
hungry for inside it, but he is not easily dissuaded. Sitting in the Shack one
gets the distinct impression he is inside an empty fifty gallon metal drum that
somebody is using for a target as they demonstrate a compressed air powered
fully automatic BB gun! More pings than a Ford Bronco four banger running on
cheap Gasohol with a bit too much H2O added!
Join us for some vintage Hallicrafters, and other, facts, fun and fellowship.
The HCI roundtable is never dull and always covers a wide variety of topics and
bits of historical radio trivia. If there is no propagation, worry not. One of
us will be talking to himself just to keep the electrons hot and those pesky D
layer wave sucking clouds moving along. Sooner or later a voice will emerge from
the abyss of the propagation pit and fill the room with warm waves from those
hallowed Hallicrafters that still go glow in the dark. Be there and catch a wave
