about yesterday's comments conerning hq-170 vhf drift. i don't have that =
rig...i do have the hq-110. it 's rock steady on all the hf bands and is =
a great ssb rig. but glen zook is right about six meters. it's just too =
jumpy for ssb. this may be due to these rigs ability to sense minute =
seismic activivity within the earth. perhaps the government should use =
them on six meters to monitor earthquakes. if you want am on this band =
you'll have to brodcast it yourself. but let me add that it does pretty =
well with fm. all the area repeaters come in fine if i detune slightly =
from center carrier. i would the the same would be true for a 170 =
equipped with two meters. 73's...mike taylor
