hi everyone. question about hammarlund audio. my hq-110 hamband sounds =
great. truly a high fidelity rig. am shortwave stations on 40 and 15 =
meters sound outstanding. my hq-180 (in mint condition or so i thought) =
has audio htat sounds kind of muddy. there's just no high-end response. =
i repaced the output tube which made no difference. i listen to both =
radios through my hi-fi system(crown ic-150 preamp...dennon power =
amp...altec speakers.) why does the hq-110 sound great while the hq-180 =
sounds muffled? could i have a bad cap somwhere? is there a mod to =
increase the audio bandwith of the hq-180? i love the rig anyway. i have =
the owners manual for both radios. 73's to everyone and thanks for any =
advice. mike [email protected]
