I agree with Al. Most mailers provide easy options for "Reply to All" (i.e the
reflector) and "Reply to Sender" when a private response is intended. Many
times a comment on a reflector will prompt me to respond on a totally different
subject, or perhaps to make a personal comment that would be off-topic for the
list and a waste of bandwidth and reflector resources (i.e every message gets
archived). Plus, price negotiations and personal questions or comments do not
belong on the reflector and every time I've seen a list set up without this
flexibility, frustration and embarassment ensue when the inevitable lapse occurs.
The qth.net lists are a great asset, and to make the best use of resources and to
accomodate the habits we've learned from other mail lists, I'd like to see both
options supported. I think we all can determine which one is appropriate to use
when we post.
