Despite what is "common knowledge" powdered graphite is not,
even remotely, any kind of "lubricant". It is an ABRASIVE and
works in keys and locks by wearing both so that they fit a bit better.

To use powdered graphite with ANY moving part, other than keys
and locks, is asking for BIG trouble.

Ask any geologist or gem-ologist if you don't believe me.

The reason it works (sorta) in keys and locks is that they aren't
moved very much. Even there, the locks and keys will wear out far
faster then if no or real lubricant were used.
