[Hammarlund] kim herron-main tuning

Hi Kim...I think you're right about it being mechanical. I know why I =
only notice this on the top two bands. At higher frequencies, the tuning =
is tighter or more picky. It's probably doing this on all bands but =
because the tuning is broader on lower frequencies I'm not noticing a =
problem there. I'm still puzzled as to why it's only in the mid portion =
of the tuning range, which leads me back to the gears. Anyway, I've =
never rebuilt a main tuning assembly. I know I can take it apart and put =
it back together. But first I would want to know if shafts, bushings, =
gears and so on are available. Otherwise, it would be a lot of work for =
nothing. Hopefully, you and others on the digest can arm me with enough =
info so I can decide if I want to bother with this. Right now it's a =
minor irritant, but I'm wondering if it will get worse with the passage =
