[Hammarlund] hq180 slot depth

Hi...Another question about my hq180. My manual shows the slot depth =
control on the front panel. But mine is in the chassis, just under the =
top lift-up lid. (Easy to get to). On the front panel, there's a control =
labeled "vernier tuning". It has a range of from minus 3khz to plus =
3khz. I find it to be very useful. It looks factory. Was this a factory =
option? The control is not shown on my schematic. Anyone know anything =
