[Hammarlund] Restoring old Hammarlunds

Hello
Since im new to this old tube type gear, I have a
couple of questions. What is the best way to find out
what is wrong with a receiver? What kind of equipment
will I need. Do I need to replace caps if their not
bad? How do I go about painted or rewhiting the knobs?
What is the best cabinet paint to use for repainting a
cabinet, like the HQ-170A? How do you clean the S
meter, it looks a little yellow? Sorry for the
beginner and dumb questions. Please help im lost in
tube restore land?
