For over 50 years the ?Peoria SUPERFEST? sponsored by the Peoria-Area Amateur Radio Club, the Annual ?SUPERFEST? has provided the perfect venue in the form of two large buildings where commercial vendors starting at 8:00AM Saturday through 2:00PM on Sunday will offer new and used amateur radios and accessories, computer equipment, peripherals, software and electronic components and a large outdoor open-air Flea Market which begins at 6 AM Saturday, September 20, and runs through 2 PM Sunday, September 21. The flea market will host private sellers with a wide assortment of almost anything electronic. This year, the Peoria Superfest will host Gordon West, WA6NOB. It?s more than likely that there is not a Ham radio operator alive who has not heard of the name ?Gordon West? or his call sign WB6NOA. It?s been said, Gordo (as he prefers) is the leading ham radio educator in the USA today! Gordo has been teaching radio and electronics for more than 40 years. His fun approach to the material helps make learning a pleasure and easy to recall for testing. He is a convention speaker, Dx?er, teacher and author. Gordo obtained his first ticket at age 15 and has been involved in ham radio for nearly 5 decades. Those that have seen the Gordon West 30 foot booth at major exhibits and arenas, see first-hand the quality. Gordon will be presenting his "Train the Trainer" session at the Peoria Red Cross starting at 9:00AM, Sept 19th. Gordon will be providing his teaching tips and tricks during this all day session. If you are currently teaching an Amateur Radio Course, a VE , VEC or an Elmer, this training is for you!! This training is free and lunch is included. This bipartisan effort would direct the FCC to extend the ?reasonable accommodation? provisions for Amateur Radio antennas to include all types of land-use regulation, including deed restrictions and restrictive covenants. At 9:30 Mike Levine of the Salvation Army will discuss SATERN communication, at 10:00AM a panel discussion on the new Yaesu Fusion Repeater system.
