[Ham-Mac] Fldigi thinks it's up to date

I’ve had a strange problem updating Fldigi and wonder if anyone else has encountered it.

First, let me say that Fldigi works great, thanks for a great program.  The problem is with updating the program.  

For the past three or four updates, the popup window that advises about the status of the program update has displayed garbage.  I ignored it and kept on operating.  Then last week it started displaying “You are running the latest version.”  But I’m not!  I’m running version 3.23.12.  If I check for updates in Help, it gives the same message.  If I go to the web site in Help, I get a 404 message.

Since no one has mentioned this problem, I assume that I’ve done something wrong in the installation, but what, so I can correct it.
