[Ham-Mac] Fldigi and Screen Sharing - UPDATE

Monitor attached. I normally run the computer in my shack (detached studio building)
but occasionally run it from my office desktop in the house.
The shack mini is a mid 2007 which stops at 10.7, office mini is an early 2009.
I reverted to Apple screen sharing which has terrific performance but the shift
key problem. When I run remotely, I just won't use the shift key … sigh. There is
some obscure feature in event handling in Fldigi that differs from other applications
that causes the issue. I have the source and have developed
Mac Applications using Swing and have had "trouble" with event handling (also worked
on the OS while employed at Apple) so I can imagine the problem. Since I retired
I swore off of programming.
Thanks for your input.

The solution (aside from hooking up a monitor) was to add a dongle that tricks the system into thinking a monitor is attached.

If you access your remote system via the internet than that is not a recommended solution. However, if your remote system is on the same local LAN (no internet) as your other computer, it could be something to try.
