The Help/About window pops up when the SHIFT/CNTL/OPTION/COMMAND key
is RELEASED not when pressed. I found a thread on linuxham (

From 2014 which discusses the problem without a solution.
Chicken of the VNC did not cause this with both systems running 10.6.
====================
When using Fldigi on a remote system running 10.7 on a Mac Mini
(last system the hardware supports) and Screen Sharing from a Mac Mini
running 10.8 I find that using the Shift, Control, Option, or Apple key on the
10.8 system brings up the About menu on the Remote Fldigi. I googled
some to find some other issues with Shift key but not this problem.
I looked at the Keyboard preferences on the Remote system and don't
see anything to set. Screen Sharing client preferences on the controlling
system does have anything useful. Perhaps there is some magic with the
preferences of the Screen Sharing server on the remote but I don't know how
to get at that.
I just switched to screen sharing when I found that after 10.6 Chicken of the
VNC no longer knows how to authenticate with the screen sharing server on
the remote.
I am learning how to run Fldigi without using the shift key but would like a
fix if possible.
