Hi Kyp.  I have an iMic and it works fine.  It's very small too.  If I was you though, I would search out a 24 bit, 196 KHz audio interface for your KX3 - the KX3's IQ signal is at least 200 KHz wide.  This is the best for home use.  For portable use, I often used my iPad as a spectrum monitor with iSDR and the iMic until I bought a PX3.  I can also KX3 at home, plugged into the computer with the serial cable, and control it remotely with Pigtail-S and Hamlog (which has a nice KX3 controller built in).
