Lets start with the warning message. To see it you have to go to your Utilities folder, launch the Console, drill down the left sidebar and mouse on system.log. Run fldigi and transmit a few time and you will then seen the WARNING
You did not provide enough information for me to help you with the lack of rig control. I will send you off line a copy of my RigCAT configuration settings.
Send me a copy of yours and I will try to help you get rig control working. The TS-590 uses the Silicon Lab USB to UART driver and you only need a single USB cable for the interface. I think the ftdi driver may be needed for the FT-1000. This is the driver you need for the TS-590S
