If he opens terminal and types the following command, it will search his USER folder (and sub-folders) for any copies of the fldigi_def.xml file:
find ~ -name fldigi_def.xml
The output of the command will look something like this:
~$ find ~ -name fldigi_def.xml
/Users/pjgolian/.fldigi/fldigi_def.xml

He can write changes to his fldigi_def.xml and macro files okay; however, when he restarts fldigi, he has no rig control and the old macros are displayed. When he writes a change, the file date modified shows in his .fldigi folder.

When N5XRD restarts his fldigi, the rig frequency box says “Enter Xcvr Freq” rather than “Rig CAT - TS-590S” and his old K3 macros are loaded.
