[Ham-Mac] Tip for fldigi/Aether Users for the ARRL QSO Party

If you are using fldigi with a LOG macro that logs your QSO's in both fldigi and Aether, be careful when you are using the fldigi OpMode option for SSB. Fldigi correctly displays the Dial Frequency and the Operating (or QSO) Frequency and the correct frequency is logged in the fldigi Logbook file. The problem is the frequency exported to Aether is offset as a function of your fldigi sweet spot offset option.

As an example, I worked the W1AW/4 (FL) station in SSB on 21320.000 (Dial and QSO Freq); however, it showed up as 21321.000 in Aether because I have a 1000 Hz offset in fldigi sweet spot option.

The easy workaround for this issue is to manually correct the frequency in Aether BEFORE you upload the QSO to LoTW. If you fail to make the adjustment, you run the risk of an orphaned QSO in LoTW.

This situation has been reported to Dave W1HKJ and Andrew AC7CF and the problem is unique to when fldigi is in the Op Mode SSB mode. All digital QSO's log correct in both fldigi and Aether.

Have fun with the W1AW/?? pile-ups in 2014.
