I believe that the zip version is only for Mac OSX. If you are trying to install on an IOS device, the iTunes store does show a version for iPad. I don't know if that works well on an iPhone or iPod.

If you are trying to install on a Mac OSX computer, then you should be able to right click on the app and open it even though it is from an unregistered developer. You may see some warnings about it being from an untrusted source but you can go ahead. You will get this challenge only once.
