John, G4KLA noted that for WSJT-X for mac to work, the following setup must be done:

" when your interface (USB Sound Card) is plugged in visit Applications -> Utilities -> Audio MIDI Setup and select your audio card. It is necessary to set the audio input format to 11025 Hz and the audio output format to 48000 Hz,. These formats are required for WSJT-X to work."

The Griffin imic sound card WILL NOT allow 2 different audio frequency formats.

I solved the problem by installing a second imic sound card (one for input and one for output) with the correct audio frequencies. Then I just went into the WSJT-X setup and set the separate sound cards for input and output.

This workaround works for me ;-)

John believes this problem is the result of the mac's audio driver being corrupted. I don't know the reason for
this corruption and there is no fix for that yet...
