The main reasons for not using Parallels or other virtual machine
software are two-fold

1) No need to own a license for Windows

2) Can operate without the memory use required by Virtual Machines

As an example, I have a Windows 7 VM running in Parallels. In order
to run it smoothly, you need to dedicate a GB or two of memory (at
least...I assign 4GB).

When running WSPR in Crossover, I use 5.7MB for WSPR, and apx 140MB
for CrossOver....so about 4% of the memory use required by Parallels.
