JT65-HF runs fine under Wine on both 10.6.8 and 10.7.5. I've been running it under Wineskin http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/ which makes the whole process quite easy. I haven't heard of JT-ALERT before so have no idea if it will run.
The WSJT apps are actually written in Python and Fortran with a TK graphical interface and getting the right combinations of those working seems to be quite hard. They won't run under Wine as they are not windows executables.
There is a port of WSPR around for the Mac, but I found it relatively unstable. The WSPR port crashed after a few hours of use. It was even unstable on my FreeBSD box. Looking at the svn source repository there doesn't appear to have been any real development of WSPR since early 2011 so I doubt any of the issues will be fixed.
Carl.
