And rather difficult to implement across all of the supported OS's:

Windows XP
Windows NT
Windows Vista
Windows 2K
Windows Win7
OS X, 10.4, 10.6
Linux - Ubuntu
Linux - Fedora
Linux - Suse
Linux - Mandriva
Linux - Mint
Linux - Puppy
Linux - etc ...

So the best I can offer is a test for currency in fldigi and 
announcements on several yahoo groups that relate to the NBEMS suite of 
applications.
