I am glad the posting helped someone. I was not aware of the sensitivity over system fonts.  The benefit of the exercise to me was trying and finding the Menlo OS X standard fixed-width font. It looks great on a Mac.  I use the Menlo Italic 19 for the fldigi Rx and the Menlo Regular 18 for TX.
