[Ham-Mac] OT: 12v adapter for Macbook

I'd seen what looked like a cigar lighter plug cable too in the Apple
Store and noted it said not for automobile use.  There are still several
non-oem chargers on ebay here in the UK.  Some appear much more
substantial (and expensive!) than others.

However, I've listened to your advice and will go down the mains inverter
route now I hear that the Apple magsafe charger will be happy with a
modified sine wave (or 'sinus' wave as one of the eBay ads describes it!).

I'd rather be safe than sorry, particularly given past experience.

Next question - how do you keep your white keyboards clean?  I hope the
answer doesn't include the expression 'personal hygiene'!
