Dick N5XRD,

Glad the audio output tips helped.  Needless to say I have been there done 
that and understood what was going with your posting. The URL to get the 
latest version of fldigi is

Once loaded look under Configue/Sound Card/Audio/TxLevel. Set it to
-10 db for starters and fine tune using the keyboard shortcuts [Command 
minus (Cmd-) and Command equal (Cmd=) keystrokes] and watch the 
ALC disappear from the S-Meter.
