Dale,

While I can certainly understand your thinking about upgrades 
existing for the sake of upgrades, it’s worth pointing out that Snow 
Leopard was released June 2009, and it was truly small upgrade to 
10.5 that had come before it as far as the end-user was concerned.  
The upgrades under the hood were far more meaningful, but unless you 
speak C as fluently as you do English, you’d never notice.

The big, obvious improvements in Lion are the file versioning, auto 
save, full-screen applications, and the new Spaces/Dashboard and 
iPad-like home screen.  These along with sync between Macs, iPods, 
iPads, etc., now being pretty much automatic, improved, and free.

That said I always advise my clients to let someone else find the 
bugs for them and hold off a few weeks.  They never seem to listen to 
my advice, and I usually make pretty good money as a result.  ;)
