More than one has ask me to explain why fldigi works with the TS-590S Data VOX
(Menu #69) set to the factory default OFF position.
The reason is fldigi uses RigCAT for rig control and one of the user options on the
RigCAT configuration panel is for "CAT command for PTT." I have this option
checked and it takes care of the keying of the rig with the TS-590S Menu #69 set
to either ON or OFF.
As footnote the PTT via CAT in the optional hamlib rig control is currently not
active in the OS X version of fldigi. It is dimmed and does not work. If you are
a OS X fldigi user, select and use the RigCAT option for rig control.
Hamlib has been revised by Nate N0NB for the TS-590S but has not been
integrated into the fldigi.
