[Ham-Mac] Echo Mac connection question

I have Echo Mac 1.16.3 installed on my MacBook. I have registered my call
sign & password with Echolink and I have entered the servers (
nawest.echolink.org, etc) on the preference page. When I start EchoMac the
main dialog box opens and the station list window is populated with a bunch
of stations.

When I select one of the stations and hit the connect button I get a
"Connecting to..." message that lasts for a while and then the message
changes to "Disconnected". The "Connected To:" window at the top of the
page is always blank and I never have any audio. I assume I am not making a
connection.

I have read the posts at http://echomac.sourceforge.net/routers.html and I
believe it is a problem with the UDP ports. My problem is I access the
internet via a Verizon Broadband card and I can't see where to make the
changes suggested.

Anybody have any advice for me?

Thanks
-----
