Well, a couple of things to think about before you part with your wallet:

Apple may well close them down, as they have done with other such enterprises in the recent past.

You may not be able to upgrade to the next version of OS X, or it may break it when you try.

There are some good deals on MacBook Pro 13" models currently on Amazon UK. We expect a new line of MBP soon, so I expect they are shifting the old ones... 

The screen, build quality and everything in a real MBP is far better than the Dell Hackintosh however if you just want a cheap Netbook for reading your email then they may be OK.

You can of course also roll your own Hackintosh from info available on the Interwebs, good luck with that!
